The quarter-box series comprises materials relating to promotion of, and education of, the Andrew system through conferences, workshops, news items, and a draft of a book on the National Science Foundation-sponsored EXPRES project. The latter effort studied interchange of electronic multi-media documents among differing computer networks. Similar portability research was a concern in the ITC’s alliance with the Open Software Foundation, a coalition of computer manufacturers dedicated to engineering interchangeable software.
